| Ice appears to be a black who carries the creme gene. This probably explains why she was registered as a bay (she probably looked brown or bay as a weanling). If so, she will throw her creme gene approximately 50% of the time and can therefore produce palominos and buckskins out of plain-colored stallions. That's just "Ice-ing" on the cake! |
This is a sweet mare that we are offering because we must reduce our numbers. She is a good opportunity for someone who likes black, and wants to add some excellent bloodlines into their program after using her as a working/riding horse. Although Ice is registered as a bay, you can see from the pictures that she is a black. We suspect that she is actually a "smoky black," which is a black horse that carries the creme gene. This would mean that she could throw buckskin and palomino foals from plain-colored stallions (sorrel and bay, for example).
